BALLETMUSIK. two PIANOS
presentation

BALLETMUSIK was the key word that sometimes indicated the section
where the dance music section began during the opera performances.

The Music for Ballet turns into a show itself,
then the music for dance turns independent of the dance,
and many works started a new life at the concert halls.

In the BalletMusik Project the choreography is performed on two pianos.

BALLETMUSIK
MORENO GISTAIN PIANO DUO

TWO PIANOS

It is very surprising that many works conceived as music for ballet started later a life as instrumental pure music for the concert hall. The music created to tell a story through the dance is able to create a story. This is possible even without the dancing, just connecting with the imagination of the listener.

For this reason, many works have become ballet dance concert suites, often reaching more popular at the concert hall than at the dance theatre. The program contains four major Balletmusik works composed in a range of just over half a century, a journey through different scenic views of music, from the Russian ballet to the modern music of jazz.

The two pianos version of the works of this program show the enormous potential of the sound of these two instruments through a fascinating instrumental choreography. In this program not only the music is great but also the transcriptions contain dazzling discoveries of pianistic orchestration.
