NOTES

Itīs hard to find a musical tradition that has drawn the attention of so many composers as the spanish music does.

The richness of the heritage accumulated in the peninsula as result of the mixture of cultures during hundred of years caused that the Spanish music has served as the most suggestive and evocative contribution from other lands and, why not, also for a long time the most exotic one.

Many composers were seduced by the charms of spanish music such as Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin, Ravel, Debussy, Chabrier, Rimsky-Korsakov, Bizet, Massenet and many others. Many of them not only created music inspired in spanish music but this influence sometimes became part of their compositional language and itīs possible to track this influence (rythmic, armonic or melodic spanish patterns) in many other works.

"Spanish Inspiration concert program presents shows from many points of view the relevance of spanish music influence in composers of different cultures and ages. All the works in the program are transcriptions for piano four hands of works written for orchestra.

“The most important thing about"Spanish Inspiration" project is that this is wonderful example of the enormous wealth that brings the dialogue between different cultures and the importance of the exchange of ideas from many countries.
